I’m finally moved over to Grandma Chambers’ old house mansion; it’s about time! It’s the unpacking I’m not looking forward to.
I remember sliding down the banister, racing with Lyric when we were younger. (And how I always won) Playing out in the garden, looking for fairies, and not acting like "proper young ladies". (I mean we were 5 and 11, acting like "proper young ladies" was not on the radar). Mom was always saying "Melody Joy Chambers! Get down from that tree" or "Stand up straight, Melody." Oh, and my personal favorite, "Quit trying to sell Lyric! She is staying, Melody." Who can blame a kid for trying to sell her little sister? Plus a lady at the big garage sale, that we had one year,(-or as mother who kept saying "That’s-designer-no-you-can’t-have-it-for-a-dollar" sale-) was going to buy her! You could have seen my smile from the moon. I got grounded for trying to sell her, My first punishment, and then I had to play with Lyric everyday for two weeks. That’s when I actually started to like her.
Now’s she 14 and in some boarding school in the middle west (Or as she calls it ‘boring school’ and yawns.) She'll be back by mid-march 2013.
I still can’t believe it will be 2013 next year! Time to put my plan into action!
Next post, I’ll say about my plan (And Me!),
All for now,
~Melody J. Chambers
